This used to be my go to vet, but Dr. Vergheese is absolutely the worst!!! Somehow I feel that still is an understatement. I took my 7 month old puppy in for a small cut on her tail, he sent me home with antibiotics and pain medication no bandages no nothing. A week and a half later I go back because it has gotten worst, he recommends amputation about two inches should be removed he says, I reluctantly agree since my dog is now bleeding everywhere. Dropped her off the following morning, get a call later in the afternoon come pick her up she is good to go. I get there and he had removed 1/2 the tail! He explains it was worst than he anticipated, blah, blah. Tells me to keep the bandage on for five days. Five days go by I take off the bandage and the sutures are coming out and the dogs tail is bleeding. My wife takes the dog back, he claims that this is something not typically the dog must have done something, deflects all responsibility. She ask how much and he quotes her the same for the original procedure and let's her know he can deduct the cost of the blood work since he already performed it. My wife decides to wrap the tail to see if it will heal itself, two days later she goes to change the bandage and notices it looks better and wraps it again. Two more days and the tail looks like it's drying up. Apparently the tail developed necrosis and further amputation is needed. Dr Vergheese now says he has no time and that I should go see a specialist..... what a hack! Avoid at all costs!!!
The vet and his assistant were nice enough.
I will not be bringing my pets back.
Brought in my two cats and dog for routine things: heartworm test, rabies vaccines.
Looking for a new vet in the area for my young cat . My last vet retired but worked out of his home. This is what made this charming to me as I loved the personal experience I had with my other vet. Today was our first visit. Everyone was professional and kind with my very timid cat . Everything seemed clean and affordable with great interaction with my animal. I hope this will be out new vet moving forward!
I had to put my chocolate Labrador Cocoa down today. She would have been 13 years old on 8/20. Dr. George Vergheese came out with his assistant to where I had Cocoa's brother Blade buried. Even though I had never met them, they were both very compassionate. It was a very peaceful procedure. They were gentle and loving.
The work was average and the charges were significantly higher than they should have been. I'm angry about the second full exam on the dog, too. Not only did they have their own records to see it was unnecessary, I'd told them what we were there for. (We were on our last month of heartworm preventative and needed to come in to get the medicine.)
My pooch had an exam in Dec and I brought him back for a heartworm blood test only and to get his nails clipped. I told both the vet and the asst, and yet they performed and--yowzer--charged me for a full exam less than 6 months after pup's last.
Sigh. I really wanted to like this place.
Everything was overly expensive and then the assistant tried to get us to leave without rabies certificates for the kitties (required by the county for licensing). Last time when we'd agreed to that, it took a lot of legwork to get them to finally fill it out and send it to us. There's a deadline with the county, so that was stressful and unwelcome.
Dr. Vorghese is excellent veterinarian. Petra is the best groomer. My dogs get excellent care at this clinic
